Not too far away from our hub of Downtown Summerlin is the main community of Summerlin which boasts similar lifestyle, albeit one that is a bit more tranquil as it is mostly identified with Summerlin South.
In 2014, it was named one of the “Best Places to Live in America” by Money, and for good reason. Here’s what we dig about living in Summerlin.
Getting Around Summerlin
Summerlin Parkway cuts through Summerlin east to west and joins Highway 95 that brings travelers into the Greater Las Vegas area with Sun City to the north and Summerlin South to the, well, south.
Our main drag is Charleston Blvd., and brings you directly to the North Strip where the Stratosphere and SLS Las Vegas reside to open the door to everything Las Vegas offers and more.
Where to Grab Food & Drinks
The first thing most people think of when looking for solid food and drink options in Summerlin is downtown. And while that can be true, we have some amazing places outside of downtown that are worth your attention.
Our favorite breakfast spot has got to be Egg Works and their Huevos Ranchos. Trust us, the sauce they put on that is amazing. For lunch and dinner, we love Vintner Grill and their expansive menu options. And to close out the evening with some drinks, The Mixx Grill and Lounge boasts a killer cocktail menu and is sure to provide a fun experience for the nightlife crowd.
Pet Friendly Activities
It’s hard to leave home without our furry friends these days and it just so happens that Summerlin is super pet friendly. The aforementioned Egg Works is our pick for a pet friendly breakfast spot while Krayvings is perfect for a day time sandwich spot with the dog. Not to mention Krayvings won a Best in Vegas award in 2015 (no surprise).
Let the dogs run it out at Kellogg Zaher Dog Park in Summerlin where they have separate areas for large and small dogs, and the grass is usually kept up nice. Cottonwood Canyon Park is good for dogs, too. And it’s just tucked right behind the Charleston and Town Center intersection.
Clean them up at Barks and Bubble’s Dog Groomings, and they’ll be good to go for the night.
Events in Summerlin
Events in Summerlin seemingly happen in Downtown Summerlin, which is where we would typically direct you. One event that we are looking forward to is this year’s Festival of Arts right here in Summerlin from October 8 – 9, 2016 that features not only art but live music, food, and entertainment.

One huge benefit of living in Summerlin is the access to 150+ village and neighborhood parks that not only are geared for children, but the wide open spaces are perfect for pick up games up football and soccer. One of our favorites is Summerlin Centre Park.
We also have a expansive trail system that is geared for walking the dogs, talking a stroll, or even a jog if it’s not too warm outside. Take a look at this guide to trails in Summerlin.
Shopping in Summerlin
Well, this one is pretty easy. Sure, Downtown Summerlin is great, but there is so much more including Canyon Pointe Shopping Center, Center Pointe Plaza, The Trails Village Center, and so much more. At each of these locations you’ll find exquisite stores and food options that eliminate the need to have to drive all over town to get what you need.
