Coffee can be a driving force in a person’s life – if you are one of the millions of people who do not consider the day to have actually started until after the first few sips of the magical black brew. This common habit is happily practiced in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas as well, so when it comes to the best coffee shops in Summerlin, it is serious business to find the perfect cup.
It’s not all serious though, as anyone who has tried to engage with a coffee lover in the morning, “pre-caffeine”, can attest to the lack of basic mental function, and probably some funny stories. We are happy to help you function at work and in every situation by connecting the words coffee, Summerlin, and Las Vegas.

Avery’s Coffee Roasters
When it comes to artisanal coffee shops, Summerlin has a gem in the form of Avery’s Coffee. Over in the corner of Village Square, this coffee hang out is a place where work may be accomplished and where the locals love the homey decor and excellent coffee. Try their nitro brew, their breakfast panini, or perhaps a quiche with a Café Au Lait.
Artisan Roasters and owners Sherman and Linda Ray have a passion for serving a great cup of coffee, and sought to find the best in locally-sourced products and free market growers, who contribute to the eclectic mix of beans available at Avery’s Coffee. Patrons here are part of the new brand of coffee culture evolving in Summerlin coffee shops.
Desert Wind Coffee Roasters
Desert Wind Coffee Roasters has the sweetest staff, and is not only a Summerlin coffee shop, but to many locals, the best coffee house in town. Coffee snobs even approve, since they roast in-house and because of the wide variety of coffee they offer. This place is a local gem on the NE corner of Buffalo and Sahara. Walk in and enjoy the aroma of the roasting coffee beans in this big open space, with lots of cool and funny coffee-themed decorations. Try the “Walter White” , the Heisenberg, or The Gustavo, with its perfect balance of sweetness countering the natural bitterness in coffee. And the other guy concurred. Pair those drinks with a slice of their homemade cinnamon coffee cake.
German Bread Bakery
Admittedly, the highlight here at this bakery are the amazing pastries and German-inspired treats of all tastes and varieties, but there is good coffee to be had here, too. Come for a cup of their German coffee and add any combination of their chocolate croissant , traditional apple strudel, 3 types of Pretzel (Roll, stick, and twist), German Cheesecake, Apple Crumb Cake, Lemon Roll, or their famous Bee Sting Cake. You will feel like you took a quick trip to Europe after visiting this unique Summerlin spot.
Frankly Good Coffee
Although technically not a coffee shop, Frankly Good Coffee, which is available from 2pm-6pm on Wednesdays, at the Summerlin-Las Vegas Farmer’s Market, deserves honorable mention. Their coffees come from around the world and have the naturally rich flavors you want out of coffee. Mostly organic and freshly roasted, come enjoy one of many cold or hot brews. Grab an Americano or an Aeropress.
Starbucks & Coffee Bean
Of course these well-known coffee shops are here in Summerlin, and everywhere else, so we won’t highlight what is already common knowledge. One comment is that the Starbucks on 1990 Village Center Circle, unlike most Starbucks (and other coffee shops around town), has spacious outdoor seating. You can have your choice of a spot in the sun, or in the shade of the surrounding trees and architecture. It’s especially pleasant to sit outdoors in the fall and spring months. The indoor seating area is also very nice, with a choice of table chairs or lounge chairs. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf does have a better selection of loose leaf teas than Starbucks, and it carries almond milk and coconut almond milk, which Starbucks does not.
We hope you find not only a great cup of Java in Summerlin, but the perfect place to sip, savor, and socialize in the setting which matches your style. A fresh cup of coffee won’t change what you have to do today. It won’t magically complete your tasks with the snap of two fingers. What it can do is comfort and inspire you on your daily journey. Enjoy that next espresso!
